Miracle Worker

Today, as I awoke to the brisk morning air, I was looking forward to a "normal" day with my precious angel. After going through the morning rituals of milk, breakfast, bath, dressing, playing and even some cleaning, I was wonderfully suprised by the early arrival of my husband at 11:30. Samantha-Grace had just awoken from her nap and was cheerful for daddy to be home. As we sat all together in the family room we began discussing our plans of hustle and bustle for the remainder of the day, which included trips to the grocer, bank, and one of our Christmas traiditions of visiting home-bound members of our church family. Josh casually mentioned as we were talking of a prayer meeting of our dear sweet friend Katherine Wolf.

For those of you reading this may not know about Katherine. She is the daughter-in-law of our sweet Pastor Jay Wolf. On April 21, 2008, Katherine suffered an AVM Stroke. By the working miracles of God, Katherine survived something that people rarely survive. (To read more of her journey you can visit www.katherinewolf.info or www.montgomeryfbc.org (click on members then it will be on our churches home page))

Long story short, Katherine was in Montgomery to attend her sister-in-law's wedding this past weekend. Today they were hosting a improtu prayer service for Katherine. For Katherine is still climbing the long road to recovery. The persons involved in this service included the staff of the church, deacons and close family members.

I call this entry the Miracle Worker for during this service, I have never in my life been so moved by the Holy Spirit. As I layed my hands upon Katherine's left knee, the prayer time was to begin with one of our deacons, but Katherine in her bold yet feeble voice began to pray and thank God for giving her the ability to gather before us this day. Tears began to stream down my face and chills went down my back. The Lord reminded me of how lucky I am and how I need to continually humble myself before not only the Lord but those around me. Little did Katherine know but she was teaching me through her voice and the voice of the Lord a lesson that I needed to be hearing for so long.

I write this to say thanks...to my Father up above...and thanks...to the GIANT witness that Katherine was to me today! I will treasure this memory forever.

So in your prayer time today, I ask that you continue to pray for Katherine, her husband Jason and her now 14 month old son James.

God bless and Merry Christams!
